I did a trip with Minerva tours Rome to the Scuola del Cuoio at the Monestery of Sante Croce, in Firenze in 2011. Having used the personal guidance of Nicola, the owner of Minerva tours. If you are looking for hand made leather items, than you must visit Florence. This church is quite remarkable, with artisans working in front of you, and to order. Apart from the fantastic church which will take your breath away in more ways than one, with its architecture and art. I recommend a visit here for an incite into both its history and the quality of craftsmanship as well as choice of goods on offer. A day to truly remember. I actually bought a waste paper bin as a functional item for everyday use. But it is one of my most treasured possessions, as well as full of fond recollections of my educational visit.
